TopGallant (pronounced in Europe as T’Gallant) is one of the uppermost sails on a ship, and TopGallant event facility is in one of the uppermost floors in Dewey, Oklahoma.
In 1609, the Dutch East India Company commissioned the ship Halve Maen (Half Moon) and her captain, an Englishman named Henry Hudson, to find a shorter route to the Far East. Although Hudson did not find a shorter route, he landed in Nova Scotia, and eventually made his way down the coast to what they named New Amsterdam; what we now know as New York.
TopGallant and its rooms are named in honor of the Dutch heritage and influence on the Americas. Our owner, Henk Schuringa, is a native of The Netherlands, son of a sea coaster captain, and worldwide adventurer. We have combined his seafaring history with our landlocked rural community to share a little of each culture.
The ambiance and theme are historical, the feel is comfortable and relaxed, the rooms are spacious and inviting, and we hope you will consider us for your next social event.
